Chapter II: A Brief Revival
(March 2008 - May 2008)
"That kid never uses his skills! I was watching him during the Sorrow's Furnace run and it took 15 minutes before he activated a skill. It was a run buff."
-Thunda, a member of the Golden Shields from Guild Wars, speaking about another member named Victor
Although Tabula Rasa had failed to be our next game we had a great stroke of luck when several new members joined us in Guild Wars and sparked renewed interest in the game.
Two members who had been with the guild for awhile named Ragnarok and Ewie recommended our guild to two friends of theirs, Jasonia and Evanguard, who promptly joined and showed interest in getting some group events started for several end game PvE areas they had never done before. About a year ago we had started a run on the Deep which we had never finished and several veteran members who had been present for the run suggested we give it another try. We scheduled a run for a Saturday night and although our first attempt didn't go so well this was due mostly to our decision to take along several non-guild members with us. On our second attempt we ditched them and took only guild members and things went perferctly. After that run someone said "So, what are we going to do next week?" and as a result of that question we began to schedule weekly events for Guild Wars again, something we had not done for quite some time.

On the Left (and center) is Laat, our Guild Wars branch leader. On the Right is Thunda, one of our most active Guild Wars members.
These weekly guild events contunied for several months and were nearly a tradition for several members who were there every week. Many other members did not arrive every week for every event but were there often. Attendance was only low on weekends when there was a major holiday and people were visiting their family out of town, something the guild always was respectful of. Over the course of several months these weekly events allowed us to complete nearly every end game area in Guild Wars. More information on our accomplishments is documented here.

Eventually though we began to run short of end game areas to work on. Finally we ran down to just one: The Domain of Anguish. This area was well named because Anguish was what most people felt just thinking about it. It was easily the longest, most difficult and most monotonous area in all of Guild Wars. As we began to work on this one it was clear that people were quickly getting annoyed with it and losing interest in Guild Wars as a result of it. Our sudden resurgence of activity in Guild Wars was brought to a screeching halt by this area.
Laat, our Guild Wars leader, along with Thunda, a well-known member who was often on the Vent server, began to complain loudly that we needed a new game to play and FAST. Some people even in wild desperation began to suggest giving Tabula Rasa another try even knowing it had not improved any from when we departed from it. We were always on the look-out for new games that might interest us but seeing the need for a new game becoming urgent I began to redouble my efforts to find one. Too bad my efforts weren't going to be very well received...
